Broward Education Foundation Raises $900,000 for Scholarships
   May 12, 2013

One of JDL Technologies’ charter clients is the School Board of Broward County and the hundreds of district schools it manages as the sixth largest public school system in the U.S.  JDL manages the Network Operations Center and provides other information technology services to the school district.  Several JDL staff attended the Broward Education Foundation’s Scholarship Event on Friday, May 10, which raised more than $900,000 toward helping Broward’s high school graduates supplement funding for their college educations.

For many students, this added support is what makes it possible to go to college.  JDL supports the Foundation by contributing scholarships, and is pleased to help make a difference in the education of our next generations.

Jorene Jameson, President and CEO of the Broward Education Foundation, thanked JDL Technologies for our long-standing commitment to the Foundation and its programs.

JDL also provides information technology solutions for Miami-Dade County Public Schools and has been selected to provide a variety of IT support for Bradford, Collier, DeSoto and Monroe County schools as well.

In an interesting sidebar, in Newsweek’s just-released “America’s Best High Schools,” which highlights the top 2,000 public high schools across the nation in preparing college-ready graduates, four Florida high schools are in the Top 10 list. High schools in Miami, Riviera Beach, Jacksonville, and Bartow boast college-bound graduation rates of 99 percent or more.
